Guildy Sand Dunes
Access via Stephens Cres or paddle up river
Walk, drive, run or cycle with boogie or sand board in hand, then paddle across the river to the Guilderton sand dunes (which locals call the Desert) and have as much fun as you can handle! It’ll certainly wear out the adults, but the kids will definitely sleep well too! Be sure to take fresh water and sunscreen with you.

Walking Trails
Leave from Stephens Cres.
View the towering Tuart trees (Nyoongar name for Eucalyptus gomphocephala) and other local flora, fauna along with local native animals where the desert meets the river. Three walk trails (800m to 6km return) begin from this location. As there’s no rubbish facilities along the way, please carry your rubbish and dispose of it thoughtfully.
Seabird Tavern
14 mins drive from Guildy
With a 180 degree view of the Inidan Ocean, this is the place to be for a relaxing few drinks and decent pub grub. If you fancy a game of pool, there’s a table inside and plenty of lawn ouside for the kids to play on. As for food, the fish n chips are good and garlic prawns are a specialty! The locals are warm and friendly too…
Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory
22 mins – Book before you go! (08) 9575 7577
An interactive science exhibition centre and observatory open days and evenings to experience the magnificent WA night sky. Not just for the kids! Check out their website for more info: https://www.gravitycentre.com.au/
Foot Golf
Guilderton Country Club – 5mins walk
FootGolf combines the challenges of golf and soccer and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. FootGolf doesn’t require any golf or soccer skills and all age groups are encouraged to play (there is no requirement to run between shots).
Adults $10.00 / Juniors $5.00
Swim In The Indian Ocean
Follow the Moore River…
The ocean up here is a beautiful turquoise colour because of the very bright white sand below reflecting the water above. There’s a calm patch behind the node for the little ones to swim and the sunset view is one to behold (and take photos of). Note there can be stinging jelly fish certain times of the year when the conditions are ‘just right’.
Guilderton Lookout
Head to the Caravan Park and look up!
The best place to watch the sunset over the ocean! There’s stairs from the caravan park and then down to the beach. As you can see, the lookout looks great in photos taken from the river as the sun disappears over the horizon.
